5 Easy Tips To Get You More Restorative Sleep Tonight By Keye Wu

One of the easiest, quickest, and most sustainable ways to gain more energy is to sleep better and sleep more (before the point where diminishing return starts to occur of course).
Sure, this is easier said than done for modern men and women, especially those living in a hectic all-night-long cosmopolitan city.
However, if you're someone who struggles with their sleep or if your sleep hasn't been as deep, as regenerative, as rewarding as it should be, you should seriously consider taking care of your rest as soon as possible.
Such a sleep-deprived situation may not harm you tomorrow, but it's going to bring in long-term disastrous health issues and you're going to regret soon.
Here are 5 easy tips on how you can considerably improve the quality (and quantity) of your sleep sessions.
Tip 1: Go For A Run
Not when you're about to go to bed but earlier in the day. This will help you to burn more energy and fat, thus making you more tired when you hit the sack.
At the same time, if you take your run outdoors, then you should find that the combination of fresh air and daylight also helps you to sleep better as well as to regulate your internal body clock.
If you aren't a runner, just find any sort of simple exercises to engage with for 20-30 minutes a day. As long as you move your body and get your heartbeat raising, you'll be more likely to sleep like a baby at night.
Tip 2: Make Your Room Cool Enough
Most people make the assumption that they will sleep better when their bodies are warm.
While you don't want your body temperature to be cold, a slightly cooler environment actually enhances your sleep. This emulates the way we would have slept in the wild and helps us to better regulate our temperature.
Tip 3: Take A Hot Shower
Taking a hot shower right before bed will help you to relax your muscles and at the same time will stimulate the release of sleep hormones like melatonin.
It also increases the production of growth hormones which are associated with better sleep and recovery.
Tip 4: Have A 30-45 Minutes Window To Relax
30-45 minutes before bed, get rid of your phone and put it in another room. At the same time, turn off the TV and make a conscious effort to relax and to do something that you will enjoy.
I personally like to read a book, jot down my day in my journal and lay out my game plan for the next day.
This will help you to unwind and to let go of the stresses of the day. Plus, the lack of bright screens and blue lights will help you to avoid stimulating the production of cortisol.
Tip 5: Take ZMA (With Caution!)
ZMA is a supplement containing zinc, magnesium and vitamin B6.
It is used by a lot of bodybuilders as a means to increase their testosterone levels to enhance muscle-building and recovery.
At the same time though, it also has the added benefit of encouraging deeper and more restful sleep. Take two capsule half an hour before sleep on an empty stomach and you might notice an improvement.
Of course, while most people can handle this supplement, always consult your physician or health experts to see if your body is good for this.

What Is Stress Management? by Rene Graeber

To fully understand the answer to the question "what is stress management" one should primarily take a closer look of what it deals with -stress. Stress is an every day part of life, and life can't really be without stres. Stress is how the body responds to what one feels when they are confronted with situations it reacts as though you're in danger. Hormones speed up, breathing is faster, and can give a person a "burst" of energy. This stres response is called "fight-or-flight".
Not every stress that a person feels is bad some of it is normal and sometimes even useful. It helps an individual react quickly or work hard that can do positive things when trying to achieve a goal or finish a task on time. However, when stress lasts longer and happens often, it can result to bad consequences back pain, headaches, trouble sleeping, or upset stomach. These negative effects can weaken one's immune system that makes it difficult for the body to "fight-off" disease.

When stress becomes overwhelming, this is where stres management comes in. The proper management of stres will lessen, alleviate, and even eliminate stres. So, what is stress managment? Stress management takes in techniques designed to equip an individual with efficient coping methods for handling stress. These methods may vary for different individuals as they have to choose which one best works for them.

What is stress management for workers? Stress management for workers deals on how employees can reduce stress in their working environment as well as techniques on effective personal stres mangement to help eliminate their "stress triggers". Most organizations these days have centered on the importance of giving their employees stress management trainings or seminars as these help the organization have better and productive employees.

What is stress management for students? Stress management for students tackles on how students can overcome the stress they encounter in their demanding "academic world". Students are among the most stressed individuals and stress mangement techniques help them cope better with situations that may result to both physical and emotional problems.

There are several other stress management areas including those that deal with individuals who go through critical incidents. The need for stress management today, is an acknowledged truth in the medical society; recent studies have shown that stress is among the major roots of every illness, therefore the increasing need for stress management.

How Stress Relief Tips Increase Anxiety by Billy Nafziger

The majority of stress relief tips lack substance and potency. Why is that? The disappointing reality is that most people lack the discipline to consistently perform these tips.
We are lazy. We do not focus. We have many distractions from family matters, business matters and social entanglements. Our lives become a never-ending "to do" list. A stress relieving exercise becomes another item on the list.
After a short time, we stop doing the exercises. Then subconsciously we start belittling ourselves. This self-criticism is what initially created the stress. As this cycle continues stress increases. Our life becomes a series of struggles.
We conclude that we need to give up doing stress relieving exercises.
That would be an error. The answer lies in doing specific exercises in a certain way. The outcome of this tactic should be involuntary relaxation of your muscles and brain. In doing these exercises, you must receive short-term and long-term benefits.
Short-term benefits would consist of relaxation, mental clarity, and a sense of relief and comfort. Long-term benefits would consist of inner strength, freedom from restrictive beliefs and profound confidence in your own abilities to deal with living.
Often stress relief tips tell you to relax, this boosts your stress level because it is so evident.
Of course we would relax if we knew how. Our thinking is saturated with the present situation and the thought of relaxing is ridiculous. What would drive us to change our situation if we would relax now? We think that we slack to much anyway. This isn't the right time to relax.
But as many researchers are finding out, our poor circumstances were created through decisions motivated by stressful thinking. We need inspired, creative thinking to change our life's position.
Again, we must find a specific exercise and do it a certain way.
As soon as we ridicule ourselves, our minds grow to be irritated and conflicted. So along with relaxing, we need to release unhelpful ideas regarding ourselves and replace them with self compassion. We need to give ourselves forgiveness and acceptance.
It's a common idea to look through the negative to the positive. Often, this leads to avoidance behaviors that do not serve us well. When we avoid our "stuff", the effect is always more stress.
One way to release the hold that the negative has on you, is to concentrate on the negative and the emotions that it produces until it naturally releases. Then adding a forgiving and compassionate series of thoughts will give you the stress relief for which you were looking.
The correct procedure for this to be effective will take some research and learning. Empty platitudes disguised as stress relief tips will be frustrating and stress building. Find a useful practice that can be done whenever your stress becomes uncomfortable.
Keep in mind that in this world you can depend on change. Situation evolve. Be prepared to help the circumstances change by using high-powered tools.
Laziness has now lost its hold and you are aligned with the capacity to overcome stress.

A Closer Look At Mental Health by Gen Wright

People are biological, social and psychological beings. All three aspects of people's lives need to be well taken care of, but unfortunately, it is the psychological or mental aspect that people tend to take for granted. Unlike physical needs that are more apparent, the things that make a person mentally healthy are not usually on top of people's concerns. This is quite ironic considering that poor mental health could actually cause a person to feel lazy even about the things that provide for his or her physical needs. Needless to say, mental health is also highly related to one's social health so that belonging to a beneficial mental health community becomes important to any individual.
The psychological aspect of a person reflects one's overall health and well-being. If one is mentally ill or unhealthy, the physical and social dimensions of one's life are also inevitably affected. It is necessary to care for one's mental health in order to live happy and fulfilling lives. As people are all exposed to daily stresses, challenges and problems brought about by work, relationships and various ways of living, it is indeed a challenge for everyone to promote a mentally healthy lifestyle, not merely as individuals but also as communities.
Among the many things that affect mental health, accidents, stress and traumatic experiences are those which cause people to be mentally unhealthy. People who are psychologically ill may sometimes take prescribed medicine for their treatment. However, everyone, whether diagnosed with a psychological illness or not, should help promote mental health by having a well-balanced life and a strong support system which may be realized by belonging to a mental health community that consists of families, friends, relatives and even neighbors who, by working together in certain activities would feel a sense of belongingness, responsibility, fulfillment and empowerment.
Mental health social networks are nonetheless useful in terms of helping one recover from mental disorders or illnesses and as well as helping an individual maintain psychologically healthy lifestyle. These networks are normally made up of people who at some point in their lives have also experienced some problems on their mental health, as well as some professionals who offer counseling and advice. A person that belongs to such a network becomes more informed by the exchange of ideas and experiences among members. It also serves as a channel for a person to express himself or herself to people who may be going through the same situation he or she is experiencing.
With the help of the internet, mental health social networks are no longer limited to people who live geographically close. Online communities and networking sites now offer help and support in the form of blogs, group emails and chat conversations for people who are interested in understanding themselves and their mental health better.
Just as anyone could have mental problems, anyone could also recover from a variety of mental illnesses. It is clear though that psychological or mental wellness is not something a person could achieve on his own, but rather something that a person could best achieve with the help of others.

How Coronary Heart Disease And Pregnancy-HOW Preparing For Pregnancy

Coronary heart disease, is a narrowing of the coronary artery: a large blood vessel that supplies blood to the heart. This narrowing is caused by fatty deposits in the artery itself and is the leading cause of heart attacks in the developed world. Cardiac disease of all types is, indirectly, the leading cause of maternal death in the UK. The risk of developing coronary heart disease increases significantly with age beyond 35 years and more significantly still in those over 50 years.
Large scale social changes have led to the increase in the number of pregnant women who suffer with coronary heart disease. The age at which women are able to conceive and sustain a pregnancy has, on average, increased with many factors driving this, not least, increases in health care and fertility medicine. Career and financial pressures also mean women are delaying having their first child and fluidity of family structures also have contributed to older women wishing to conceive with their second or third partners/spouse.
Lifestyle changes have, without doubt, contributed to the rise in younger women developing coronary heart disease. The huge rise in obesity is an obvious starting point and, according to current statistics, the number of young women who smoke far exceeds the number of young men who partake in this unhealthy habit. Working and leisure patterns have also played their part with more and more jobs being sedentary and desk based in their nature and women far less likely than men to take part in organised sports but increasingly likely to drink more alcohol than is recommended on a regular basis. Should women with coronary heart disease risk pregnancy at all? This is a rather vexing question. It is only in recent times that the number of women with coronary heart disease has reached any significant level. The greatest risk posed by embarking upon a pregnancy with coronary heart disease is the risk of heart attack particularly during labour. Other diseases and conditions associated with coronary heart disease such as hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes serve only to increase the risk to mother and child. It is also possible that some medications you are taking to control your heart condition may not be suitable for use during pregnancy. Stopping or changing them may further increase the risk of heart attack.

Pregnancy itself may worsen symptoms of coronary heart disease. This exacerbated form of the disease is known as acute coronary syndrome and is three to four times more common in pregnant women compared to non-pregnant women of the same age. It is estimated that acute coronary syndrome affects one in every ten thousand pregnancies in the USA. The rates are assumed to be lower in the UK but large scale studies have yet to be conducted. This is likely the result of a host of factors common in pregnancy: mobility may become restricted in later stages, drug absorption may be affected particularly in mothers who suffer morning sickness and blood pressure may increase to dangerous levels. Choosing to conceive if you have coronary heart disease is not a decision that should be taken lightly and certainly not without consultation with your doctor and cardiologist. Risks of coronary heart disease during pregnancy As already indicated, the greatest risk is that of heart attack. This could, of course be fatal or leave your baby starved of oxygen (hypoxia) which, in turn, can lead to permanent brain damage. The risk of heart attack is increased during labour and you may be advised to have a caesarian delivery. Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a predisposing factor for coronary heart disease and a condition that develops in the last twenty weeks of pregnancy, pre-eclampsia can increase the risk of heart attack many-fold. Indeed, pre-eclampsia alone has the potential to be fatal. Pre-eclampsia superimposed on (chronic) hypertension has been seen to develop in as many as one quarter of women with pre-existing hypertension.

Early detection is important to ensure a good outcome in this scenario so frequent and regular blood pressure monitoring is essential for pregnant women with hypertension and coronary heart disease. Reducing the risks Should you choose, on balance of risk, to try to conceive then you should prepare for pregnancy by taking folic acid supplements for at least three months before conception and throughout pregnancy, try to keep weight within a healthy range, eat a healthy and balanced diet, take exercise and avoid alcohol, caffeine and tobacco products - these are sensible steps for any woman wishing to conceive and have a healthy pregnancy but are especially important for women with coronary heart disease. Consult with your cardiologist to establish which drugs will be safest for you during pregnancy. For those who are prescribed it Aspirin is, generally safe to use. It may be that your doctor will not change your medication so it is important to discuss the risk and rates of potential side effects for your baby if these drugs are generally not recommended during pregnancy. Discuss whether or not you should attempt to breast feed your baby. Do not stop taking medication you have been prescribed without consulting your cardiologist. Birth choices for women with coronary heart disease are limited in the extreme and you should be under the care of a consultant obstetrician led (as opposed to midwife led) team. You should plan to give birth in a maternity unit within a hospital. Under no circumstances should you attempt a home birth or even birth at a birthing centre though, for most women with coronary heart disease vaginal delivery is possible. Wear medical alert jewellery and carry a medical alert card in case of an emergency and ensure those who you spend most time with are educated in how to properly conduct CPR.

A note to all women Certain heart conditions, including but not limited to coronary heart disease, have symptoms not unlike those many women experience in pregnancy such as nausea, chest pain, indigestion like symptoms and breathlessness. For this reason, cardiac conditions in pregnant women often go undetected. If you are struck by a sudden breathlessness, pain in the centre of the chest especially pain radiating to the arm or jaw seek medical attention immediately.

How Stress Management Impact Men's Sexual Health

Everybody is exposed to various forms of stress and this is an inevitable fact that we all have to face sometimes in our lives. There are various causes of stress and oftentimes, people would only look on the aspect of staying away from stress causing agents where in fact there is a better way to live through stress and pressure in the form of stress management. Particularly for those who are in the corporate world, these people are often exposed to higher levels of stress especially when there is a pressure to meet deadlines, make important decisions, problems with work colleagues, and other related causes.

Stress management is an excellent way to divert one's attention to something that is less hectic and demanding.

How Stress Management Can Help Us Cope

Stress basically is a combination of past and current events or things that we experience that have negative effects on our emotional as well as psychological being. Stress can also negatively affect our physical health and this includes our outlook towards sex. With good stress management, it allows us to cope up with it without experiencing panic attacks or extreme anxiety that can put our emotional and psychological state into serious conditions. In the past, stress is only attributed to ordinary symptoms such as headaches, sudden fever, over fatigue and bouts of insomnia. But today research shows that it can also have a significant impact on our sexual health especially to men who are commonly exposed to undue stress either at work or at home. To much stress bordering on depression can significantly reduce their sexual appetite which will eventually put their sexual health into serious jeopardy.

Tips To Recover From Your Mental Health

Most of us suffer from mental health problems, though in varying degrees. Although mental ill-health affects so many people, there is still no proper definition as to what mental health problems are and what methods are needed to recover. It is reported that at least 1 in 10 young people and around 1 in 4 adults experience mental health problem at some time in their lives. Mental health can mean a wide range of symptoms and disorders - like depression, anxiety, self-harm, violent tendencies, schizophrenia and various types of mania. The mental health problems can develop at any time in one's life and each person's experience can be unique and can last from several weeks to even a lifetime.

People suffering from mental ill-health will think, feel or behave abnormally. This can be confusing not only for them but can affect their relationships, their work or education, and their social life. Having a mental health problem can create difficulties for all family members, friends, and the people they interact with. Mental health problems are usually caused by a variety of factors including breakdown in a relationship, death of a family member or a close friend, bullying, abuse, divorce, separation from parents or loved ones, stress born of a person's current situation. Mental health can happen suddenly without prior indications or get built up over time.

When people first begin to experience mental health difficulties they may not be able to fathom what is happening. In several instances, people tend to deny that anything is wrong with them or even suppress information. Their reasons for doing this could be embarrassment, a sense of shame or fear of other people's reactions. There is no denying the fact that mental health results in social stigma. Please remember that there is a lot of support available to help people recover from mental health problems - in terms of counseling, therapy, medication and treatment in hospital. Different treatments are recommended for different types of mental illnesses. With the right support, the majority of people with mental health problems will surely recover.

Mental health saps your energy, hope, ambition and drive, sometimes making it difficult to do even the normal day-to-day activities. Although overcoming depression may not be quick or easy, it certainly is not impossible. Feeling completely better may take time, but you can get there if you make positive choices for yourself each day and draw on the support of your loved ones. Recovering from depression calls for positive action but taking action when you're depressed is hard. Some simple things you need to do are physical exercise, eating right food and rating regularly, sleeping at least for six hours, going out for walks in open areas, interacting with loved ones, avoiding loneliness, refusing to think negatively etc.. You probably already know that these things will help you overcome depression but following these rules are not easy when you are depressed. This is the Catch-22 situation of depression recovery. The symptoms of depression such as fatigue, despondency, incoherent thinking, and low self-esteem make it difficult to take the necessary steps to recovery. A realistic recovery plan therefore involves taking responsibility for the choices and changes you do have control over and avoiding the things you cannot control.

All forms of mental illnesses are treatable if the patient receives competent professional care. Psychologists are among the licensed and highly trained mental health providers with years of experience studying depression and helping patients recover from it. Unfortunately, there is some social stigma associated with seeking help for emotional and mental health problems as feelings of depression often are viewed as a sign of weakness rather than as a signal that something is out of balance. Persons suffering from mental health who do not seek help suffer needlessly. Unexpressed feelings and concerns accompanied by a sense of isolation can worsen mental health. The importance of obtaining timely professional health care is the need of the only answer for mental maladies.

How You Can Be Happy During The Holidays Withour Breaking The Bank

During the months of November to February, the days start
getting shorter and colder, and the nights longer and darker.
Climate changes seem to affect many people and they just can't
understand why they tend to feel gloomy and miserable. This mood disorder is called winter depression, or Seasonal Affective
Disorder (SAD).

According to Norman E. Rosenthal, the doctor who coined the term
SAD in 1984, winter depression has a sound medical basis that
involves changes in the body's mood centers brought on by
shorter daylight hours and a lack of sunlight. Most depressive
illness sufferers experience a sense of utter isolation and
loneliness. But the fact that many people go through the same
grumpiness during this time of the year provides a sense of
comfort and assurance that they are not alone. As the cliché
goes "misery loves company."

Based on statistics of SAD Association, 500,000 people in the
United Kingdom experience some form of winter depression, while
doctors have estimated that 20% of the population, or almost 2
million people, are affected in Sweden by this condition.

One of the most effective and clinically proven treatment for
SAD is "light therapy", which has been shown to benefit some
80-85 percent of SAD cases. Simple as it may sound, the
treatment actually involves more than just turning on a light
and sitting beside it while twiddling your thumbs as you wait
for that renewed energy to "power up" your whole well-being. The
average domestic or office light emits a paltry 200-500 lux (a
lux is a unit of illuminance,) whereas a minimum of 2,500 lux is
required to alleviate the symptoms of SAD. In comparison, a
clear summer's day can reach an intensity of 100,000 lux.

Based on these specs, a number of specially designed light boxes
have been invented that emit precisely the right amount of
illumination. Symptoms of SAD gradually subside by sitting in
front of one for about 30 minutes to several hours, depending on
the severity of the condition.

Light therapy may be the best treatment for SAD as far as
symptoms are concerned. However, addressing the root causes of
the condition may involve both anti-depressant drugs and
psychotherapy treatments especially for those with severe
symptoms.

Studies have shown that the incidence of SAD increases
dramatically as you go 30 degrees of latitude further north or
south, as the condition is virtually unheard of in the tropical
countries. A movement or vacation trip to these countries in the
equator may sound impractical but can definitely improve ones
mood and well-being.

Watching movies that feature warm, sunny, summery climates show
demonstrable improvements in mood. Research shows that any film
with clear blue cloudless skies, palm trees and an absence of
snow should qualify for a movie therapy.

The same mood-enhancing effect may result by simply watching
outdoor sports like cricket or golf. However, over-exposure to
snooker, darts, and indoor bowling has been found to bring on a
state of depressive, trance-like catatonia that, in severe
cases, culminates in complete mental health breakdown.

Reduce Stress Through Yoga

There are many products on the market that do the same thing,
but that's where most of them stop. This new natural wrinkle
reducer actually provides additional benefits over time. Your
skin will continue to look better and better. You may even find
that old scars are healed and faded. During testing, volunteers
reported amazing things like that.

More often than not, especially as it relates to your job, you
may find yourself in a stressful situation. Whether a deadline
hasn't been met on time; or you disagree with your boss; or a
co-worker is literally driving you nuts – these are stressors
which can cause health problems later on unless you deal with
them now. A-type personalities are more prone to stress,
therefore try not to control everything or everyone.

As we age, our bodies produced fewer new skin cells. The outer
layers become thinner and more easily damaged. Aging skin cells
produce more free radicals, while levels of antioxidants that
normally prevent free radicals from damaging the cellular
membrane and collagen fibers continue to decrease.

If you can reduce your workload or at least take multiple breaks
during the day, you are less likely to be stressed at mealtime.
Exercise is also an effective stress reducer. Walking as much as
you can (whenever you can) will increase the endorphins in your
bloodstream and relax your body. A regular exercise program is
often part of a complete irritable bowel syndrome treatment
plan. Exercise can reduce episodes of irritable bowel syndrome
and stress.

The More Intense Yoga Practitioner

Some people swear so much by yoga that it becomes a way of life
for them. These people feel that yoga also brings many emotional
benefits. People start yoga for several reasons. Some because
they want the exercise, but many start as a way of relieving
stress, and promoting their emotional well being. Because yoga
involves body toning exercise, but at the same time special yoga
breathing and meditation, this causes a calming effect and
brings better mental awareness to people who practice it.

Once cleared by your physician, you should begin your program in
a calm, collective way for 15-30 minutes per day. If you can do
the exercise in your home or office, that would be much more
convenient, more time saving (eliminates travel to and from the
exercise location), and probably a lot easier on your wallet or
purse.

Functional Keratin can penetrate deep into your skin and start o
rejuvenate the collagen that you are losing. I would highly
recommend you seek out natural wrinkle reducer that has
Functional Keratin as a key ingredient. If you need help to find
the creams that this new form of the protein has, I have some
suggestions on my web site.

Keeping Your Brain Healthy While You Age: Five Tips to Help You

Author: Jamie Jefferson

Recent scientific discoveries have shown that the body is not
the only thing that ages as we grow old. Your brain can also
experience the effects of aging, especially if you don't take
steps to keep it healthy. The following five suggestions will
help you stay sharp.

1. Eating for Brain Health. Your brain relies on the foods that
you eat, as well as the rest that you get, in order to work
properly. It's important to eat a well-balanced diet. Eating
foods considered to be "brain healthy" will help keep your body
and your brain working at optimum levels. These foods include
vegetables, foods high in antioxidants (such as blueberries,
raisins, red bell peppers and eggplant), omega-3 fatty acids
(mostly found in cold water fish) and B vitamins.

Recent research has also indicated the importance of two other
brain nutrients: alpha-lipoic acid and acetyl l-carnitine. Talk
to your doctor about taking supplements of these nutrients to
help keep your brain young. Both of these supplements increase
the energy output of the mitochondria, a part of your cells that
produce the energy that runs your entire body. Over time,
mitochondria start to disintegrate and taking a supplement may
help to prevent or slow this process.

New research is coming out all the time on the effects of
various nutritional supplements on brain health, so stay alert
to new developments in this exciting branch of modern science.

2. Physical Exercise. Your brain also loves physical exercise.
Exercise brings more oxygen into your body, which is great for
your brain. Physical activity also helps by producing stress
proteins that encourage the regeneration of brain cells.

For best results, according to recent research, you need to be
mentally engaged with the exercise activity. If you consider
your exercise boring, and you mentally check out during the
activity, research suggests that you are not going to get the
same benefits as someone who is having fun and is fully engaged
during the exercise.

3. Mental Exercise. Your brain is a muscle and, in order to keep
it fit as you age, you need to continue to exercise it as much
as possible. The first way you can do this is through improving
and maintaining your reasoning skills. This can be done through
puzzles or challenging games, such as chess. Stretch your brain
by reading philosophy or engaging in friendly debating with some
friends. Another part of exercising your brain is improving your
verbal skills. Word of the Day calendars, crossword puzzles, and
games such as Scrabble can also help increase your vocabulary
and strengthen your brain.

4. Try something new. Expand your experience by taking up an
instrument or trying to learn a new language. Not only are these
hobbies fun, but they can also help to create new connections in
your brain. These new connections improve the overall strength
of your brain and allow you to learn and remember more over time.

5. R & R. Finally, your brain functions best when it has had
enough rest. Getting enough sleep is important to your mental
functioning and also in the storage of memories. When you have
good sleep habits, you'll be able to think more clearly and you
may even find that you start to remember more than you did
before.

4 Stress Relief Ideas You Can Use Right Now

Author: Caroline Selfe

Are you looking for stress relief ideas? Do you have about five minutes to spare in your busy day? There are many effective stress relief methods that only take minutes to do.
In our hustle and bustle world, we are caught between a rock anda hard place. Lack of time is causing us stress yet we don'thave the time to destress. Try these four techniques right now and you will feel instantly relaxed.

1) Deep Breathing - Tension and stress causes shallow breathing.Deep breathing not only destresses but also oxygenates the blood. Try this: Sit upright with your body relaxed. Inhale deeply through both nostrils filling your stomach and lungs. Then, exhale by pushing your stomach in to get the air out. Do this a few times and your tension will melt away. This is one of my favorite stress relief ideas. It is quick and very effective. If you don't have time to sit and do it, you can do it as you are walking about.

2) Stretching - Loosening tense muscles melts away stress quickly. Stretching relaxes tense muscles and sends a signal to your brain to relax. This exercise is great for the neck where most tension builds up. Do this: Sit up straight and breath deeply. Move your head slowly to the right until your ear touches your shoulder comfortably. Keep breathing deeply. Do the same to the left. Repeat a few times on each side. Then, bring your chin slowly toward your chest. Breathe deeply a few times and hold this position. Raise your head up to normal position.

3) Affirmations - Reciting an affirmation throughout your day will be relaxing as well as uplifting. Affirmations are simple positive statements. You can use "I am peaceful", "I am joyful","I am in harmony with all". What negative thoughts have you been experiencing lately? You can create an affirmation by taking a negative thought and transforming it into a positive statement. For example, if you have thoughts of lacking time, your affirmation could be, "I have plenty of time to do all that Ineed to do."

4) Positive Feelings - Focusing on positive feelings sounds hard to do if you are in the midst of a stressful situation. If the positive feelings already exist, it is easy. Let's say you have an argument with your boss. You are angry and tense. To calm yourself, think of someone you love. Think of a time when you were proud of yourself. Hold the feeling of love or pride in your heart. Holding the positive feelings that you already own in your heart is transforming. Holding onto the stress and anger from the argument will only be detrimental to you, not your boss.

These stress relief ideas can be used anywhere you are sitting. You can use them at your desk, while you are stuck in traffic, waiting for your doctor's appointment, on the bus or train or on your lunch break. With practice, you can even do them while you are walking about. Either way, they really pack a punch against stress.

The Different Types of B Vitamins

Author: Nicholas Tan
There are a large number of B vitamins that are needed to keep all of the body functions performing properly. All of the B vitamins are essential for a number of different processes.Without sufficient B vitamins the blood supply would not be healthy and this leads to a variety of illnesses and diseases. The brain needs B vitamins to function correctly and the heart also needs B vitamins to stay healthy and prevent heart disease and food is broken down into the various nutrients by B vitamins. In fact, just about every organ and process within the body requires at least one form of the B vitamin.

Thiamin, or B1, is the B vitamin that the body needs to keep all of its cells, especially the nerves, functioning correctly. It is especially important for memory and general mental health and is one of the B vitamins that is required to convert food into energy.

Riboflavin, or B2, is the B vitamin that is essential for releasing the energy from food that has been consumed. Without this B vitamin the body cannot grow or develop properly as red blood cells will not be as healthy as they should be.

Niacin, or B3, is the B vitamin that is involved in over fifty processes, ranging from detoxifying chemicals to making hormones and releasing energy from food.

Pantothenic acid, or B5,works with several other B vitamins fora number of essential processes including breaking down fats, proteins, and carbohydrates into energy and is also the Bvitamin that is needed to form vitamin D, a variety of hormones, and red blood cells.

Pyridoxine, or B6, is the B vitamin that is largely responsible for redistributing the amino acids to create over five thousand proteins that are needed by the body and is also one of the B vitamins needed to form various enzymes.

Biotin, or B7, is one of the B vitamins that are involved in a number of processes within the body, including the breaking down of fats, carbohydrates and proteins into usable energy forms.
Folic acid, or B9, is the essential B vitamin for aiding in cellgrowth and division, especially during pregnancy. This B vitaminis also necessary to make natural chemicals which control the appetite, moods and quality of sleep. It is also the best B vitamin for helping lower the chances of suffering a heart attack or stroke by keeping the arteries open.

Cobalamin, or B12, is one of the B vitamins that is important in the process of converting the carbohydrates, proteins, and fats into energy. This B vitamin is also vital in forming the protective covering of nerve cells and to keep red blood cells healthy, and help prevent heart disease.

How to Avoid Stress at work

Statistics don't lie. Research suggests that work related stressis a killer. According to the World Health Organization, 80 to90 percent of all illnesses are either directly or indirectly caused by stress.
In another study, researchers found that more than 50 percent ofemployees would be willing to take a day off work without pay inan effort to feel less stress at work and have more time with their families. Further studies have found that the majority ofstress that people experience at work is directly related towork issues such as time management, deadlines, and dealing withdifficult co-workers. Fortunately, there are action steps thatyou can take on a daily basis to eliminate these stresses.
Here are some tips for relieving work related stress.

Watch what You Eat.

Avoid eating unhealthy snacks. Eating healthy food can increaseyour energy. Reduce Your Caffeine Intake. Drinking lots ofcoffee and sodas can increase your stress levels. If you can'tcut out caffeine beverages completely, try to alternate yourcaffeine intake with healthier beverages or snacks.
Exercise Regularly.
Exercise is a great way to relieve stress, so try to take abrisk 10-minute walk during the day, even if it means a walkaround the office or building. Walking will help to get yourblood moving and give you a mental break from your tasks.

Stretch Your Body.
Stretching helps to relieve stiff muscles, which can holdtension and make you feel more stressed.

Plan Ahead.
Getting up 15 minutes earlier, and packing lunches or laying outclothes the night before, can help create a routine and get youorganized.

Breathe Deeply.
When we are stressed, we have a tendency to take shallowbreaths, which can result in feeling more tension. Start byinhaling deeply through the nose for a count of 4, and thenexhaling slowly for a count of 8. This helps to release toxinsthrough your breath. Concentrate on your counting and breath.

Get a Good Nights Sleep.
Be sure you are getting enough sleep at night. Not feelingrested can add to your stress level and make you feel moreoverwhelmed. If you have been experiencing recurring sleeplessnights, consult your physician for guidance.
Do Things You Enjoy.
Try to do something you love every day to give yourselfsomething to look forward to. Most stress arises due to feelingsof life being out of control. By taking time to get yourselforganized, and taking care of yourself, you can begin to gaincontrol and ensure that your workday is as relaxed as possible.

Eliminate Time-Wasters.
Make a list of all the things that currently waste your time andreduce your productivity. These can include things like checkingyour emails, interruptions at your desk, talking too long on thephone, attending meetings, or on a personal level watching TV,getting up late and not prioritizing your day. Then next to eachtime-waster write down what you can do to change that. Then putyour plan into action today!
The end of Work Related Stress
The bottom line in getting rid of stress at work is to do workthat you love. Don't be one of the 80% of people that stay stuckin work they hate. This is the worst thing you could do.
Find out what you're passionate about and then go for it. Ifthat means studying new skills, or finding out more informationabout how to get into your chosen field, then get started now.

To your great life and health!

Stress Relief and Management

Author: Dr. Olu Abiodun

Stress is a major aspect of our lives. Stress affects different
people in different ways. Learning to control or eliminate
stress can promote overall good health. What is stress? Stress
is a collective term for a whole series of effects including
mental, physical and emotional effects that occur as a result of
certain excesses in our lives. Such excesses include excess
work, excess partying, excess food, excess noise and excess
pressure to meet certain obligations.

Stress causes the body to release stress hormone called
adrenaline (epinephrine). Adrenaline is not altogether bad, it
has essential function in the body, but like most things, excess
of it can cause problem leading to stress. Sustained stress can
result in increase in blood pressure and heart rate, skin
problems, diabetes, osteoporosis, etc. For these, reasons stress
relief and management should be given serious attention.

Many people are stressed up but don't even know it. If you
recognize that you are suffering from stress and want to do
something about it, you are two important steps ahead of most
people on the road to recovery and better health. Removing the
cause of stress is the real solution to the problem. Although it
is not a simple one, it can be done. For every stress there is a
source. The first step is to isolate the source of the stress
and remove it, and the sooner the better.

Make every effort to de-stress regularly. Exercise can help you
to remove or reduce stress. During exercise, the body burns up
physical energy and hormones (adrenaline) that cause stress
thereby restoring balance and ease to the body. Another
important step is to make taking-a-break a habit. You can't
afford to leave your engine running 24/7 without lots and lots
of maintenance. Eating balanced diets can reduce stress. A
balanced diet provides the body with the essential nutrients
that are needed to nip stress in the bud or eliminate a
long-standing stress, over a period of time. Using vitamins and
minerals to supplement diet may be helpful to reduce stress,
especially as most meals today lack the necessary nutrients for
good health.

Always seek permanent solutions, not temporary ones. Temporary
fixing of the problem means that you intend to come back to it
at a later time, by which time it would have become
substantially worse. You should also avoid the practice of
reaching out to the so called "energy drink" as a stimulant to
keep you going and pharmaceutical drugs to mask symptoms. The
best advice is that you should give immediate attention to
whatever goes wrong in your body--start fixing it " Now" and
your body will thank you by running smoother and better for
longer time and with smaller bills and greater enjoyment.
Without doubt this is the sensible thing to do.

Space will not permit me here to dig deeper into this subject
but if you find the information above helpful, I suggest that
you proceed to the link indicated here for further information
and recommendations on stress relief and even relief from
depression and anxiety.

5 Easy Ways to Reduce your Stress Today

Author: Destin Lucas

According to the British Medical Association, stress can have an
adverse effect on health due to the "stress response"

The "stress response" creates in an increase in stress hormones
such as adrenaline and cortisol released by the body to help us
cope with stressful situations. These hormones temporarily
increase our physical strength and alertness for "fight or
flight" reactions. Unfortunately these hormones are
inappropriate for modern lifestyles, because most of our
frustrations and threats are no longer physical in nature. Over
time the responses triggered by stress hormones can lead to many
dangerous health problems such as heart disease, cancer, and
stroke. That's why it's important for every one of us to find
more effective ways to reduce stress. In this article we explore
5 highly effective stress reduction techniques.

Stress Reduction Technique 1: Take regular breaks from
your work. Many of us are in the habit of working for hours on
end without a moment's rest. This is counterproductive, as your
efficiency is reduced over time as a result of mental fatigue.
Further, the levels of oxygen in your muscles and brain are
lowered from lack of physical activity. So at least once every 2
hours, take just 5 minutes to read a funny e-mail or spend 10
minutes outside getting some fresh air. And during your lunch
break take a short walk outdoors. Taking regular breaks will
leave you feeling recharged and energized - ready to get back to
work with renewed vigor and strength.
Stress Reduction Technique 2: Studies indicate that
alternate nostril breathing can balance your brain hemispheres
whilst increasing feelings of relaxation. First, cover your left
nostril with your left hand. Breathing in through your nose and
out through your mouth, take 10 slow deep breaths. Breathe in
for 4 seconds, hold for 2 seconds, and then breathe out for 4
seconds. Then cover your right nostril with your right hand and
repeat. Finally, breathe in and out with both nostrils. As an
advanced technique, you can first breathe in through your left
nostril, then cover it and breathe out through your right
nostril. If you have a cold, it is best to refrain from doing
this exercise.
Stress Reduction Technique 3: Hot, spicy foods can make a
terrific stress reducer. This is because foods such as chili
peppers contain a substance called capsaicin that causes your
brain to release hormones known as endorphins. Endorphins are
natural opiates that your brain uses to signal pleasure, and
they make great stress relievers as well. However, use this tip
sparingly as too much hot food can lead to ulcers.

Stress Reduction Technique 4: An important aspect of
stress management is the protection of your health. During times
of pressure we often neglect the small important things that can
lead to greatly increased stress in the long term. Therefore,
make sure that every day you drink sufficient water, eat three
square meals, and get enough sleep. Further, pay attention to
your diet by eating foods with a low or medium Glycaemic Index
and that give sustained energy. Finally, take at least 5 minutes
a day to stretch your body, to ensure that it remains flexible
and supple. Doing these little things will greatly reduce the
impact of stress on your life.
Stress Reduction Technique 5: Because we live in the
21st century, you may be wondering if there are any modern
technologies that can be applied to stress relief. The answer is
yes. Biofeedback devices have become very popular stress
management tools. Basically, these devices train you to control
a biological process such as heart rhythm in order to become
habitually more relaxed. Another remarkable stress relief
technology now being used by thousands of people is Binaural
Beats. This technology uses specialised sound frequencies to
create states of instant, profoundly deep relaxation. The best
thing about Binaural Beats is that they are effortless to use,
taking only a few minutes to produce results.

In Conclusion
Stress is no joke. It can lead to many harmful health
conditions, such as heart disease, cancer, and stroke. That's
why it's important that you take immediate action to reduce your
stress levels. Start with something small and easy to sustain,
even just one of these stress management techniques. But
whatever you do, do something. Not only will you feel more calm
and tranquil, you will also be investing in a lifetime of
increased vitality and happiness.

sinus headache

Author: Michael Malega

Time to get started on this topic. Take a few moments to read every aspect of this paper hopefully it will be of great help.Whenever we have a stuffy nose we feel that we are coming in for a cold. At these moments we will begin treatment for what we consider is a cold. Many times these medications can temporarily provide alleviation from the symptoms of the "cold" but they push aside the underlying cause. That is the stuffed up nose isthe cause of a sinus headache.

A sinus headache occurs only when the sinus passage becomes congested with too much mucus. As the sinus transitionis hollow they provide your nose with another way of breathing. Also the passage way is lined with membranes that make mucus. The nasal openings at the ends of your nose allows the mucouss ecretion to drain out without causing you any problems.

In general a sinus headache is due to the fact thatthere is some swelling in the sinus cavity. This swelling can befound close to the nose and the eyes. Other causes of sinus headaches are various allergies or infections. For anysinus headache that is caused by an allergic reactionor an infection there is a strong chance that you may get afever, stuffy nose or even toothaches.

Sinus headache hurt is described as being a dull, deep or even severe hurting that is placed in the front of the face and thehead. The inflammation in the sinus passage causes pain around the cheeks, eyes and the nose areas. Bending down or leaningover generally is found to gain the hardness of the pain.

Sometimes sinus headache pain is found to become worse in cold weather conditions. Damp is also a contributing factor for sinus headaches. By and large the sinus headache is very painful in the morning hours and itbecomes better towards the afternoon. Two other types ofheadaches are sometimes mistaken for sinus headaches.

These are vascular headaches and migraine headaches. Many sufferers of migraine headaches have found that their migraine headaches can cause similar types of head pain and sometimes nasal congestion. These people also state that changes in the weather condition or season can contribute towards their migraine headaches.

In order to treat sinus headaches it is best to find the underlying cause first. Once this problem has been identified itis possible to provide treatment for that condition first. This problem may be an allergy or an infection. The use off nasal vasoconstrictors and pain pill medicine can be used. When the condition has been cleared then the treatment for sinus headache pain can begun.

While a sinus headache can be problematic the condition is wholly treatable. Also they are simply annoying headaches rather than debilitating. With reason our bodies and the various responses that can be found to sinus headaches we can find n-ways to prevent any future episodes of sinusheadache pain. With this knowledge at our disposal we can plan a sinus headache free life.

Causes of migraine headaches

Author: Michael Malega

I would like to thank you for visiting and reading this article.
The substance has been cautiously researched and attested for
your benefit.

Headaches in any form are very unspeakable to
the sufferer. Some headaches like migraines can cause more
problems than just a headache. These problems could be nausea,
light sensitivity and a throbbing pain in the head. Sometimes
the headache pain is felt on one side of the head. At others you
can feel the hurting on both sides of your head. The factual
causes of migraine headaches has not been found as of
yet.

There are a few theories as to why we experience migraine
headaches. The most common possibility is that a change in the
blood flow within the brain is one of the trip causes of
migraine headaches
. The other theory about migraine
headache is thought to be a pain sensing nerve releasing
chemicals named neuropathies.

Many medical checkup professionals speculate that the
neuropathies relaxes the smooth muscle that surrounds the
cranial blood vessels. This rest causes the blood vessels to
dilate or get constricted. This blood vessel relaxation
increases the flow of blood and other cranial fluid to the
brain. These fluids are thought to be the causes of migraine
headaches
.

These cranial fluids cause inflammation, painfulness
sensitivity, weave and blood vessel swelling during the time of
migraine headaches. Some people think that the aura that is seen
during a migraine headache is caused by the constriction of
blood vessels that became dilated during the beginning phase of
migraine headaches.

Another possibility as to the causes of migraine
headaches
has been linked to genetics and inheritance.
These theories state that a child of migraine sufferers will
have a 50% chance of acquiring migraine headaches. The chances
go even greater of inheriting migraine headaches if both parents
are known to sustain from this afflictive headache.

Should both parents be known to have frequent migraine headaches
the chances of the child inheriting migraine headache symptoms
is about 70%. Now even though some professionals think that
inheritance plays a large part in megrim headaches the genes
that may be wise as the causes of migraine headaches have
not been identified or even isolated.

When we begin to experience migraine headaches the only word of
advice signs that we may receive are a throbbing hurting in the
temple area and light nausea. As the migraine symptoms pass on
the pain of the headaches become much worse. Unfortunately since
the causes of migraine headaches have
not been found and we don't know what can trip these attacks,
the medications to address these headaches have not been
developed.

High Cholesterol = Heart Attack

Author: Dunham

Lifestyle and food are two elements that can have a dual effect. They can improve your health or cause it to deteriorate, sometimes beyond control. We do not realize these facts till we cross the age of 40 and then it may be too late in some cases.

Cholesterol is one of the bad outcomes of a mismanaged lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits. It is a soft waxy substance foundin the lipids (fats) in the blood stream. It is important to understand the role of cholesterol in your body so that you can prevent it from causing damage and protect your heart and live a longer and healthier life.

Over a period cholesterol builds up on the inside of the blood vessels. This causes the blood vessels to thicken and restricts blood flow to organs, which means reduced oxygen supply. Insevere cases the blood flow is restricted to extreme that itcauses the organs to fail. Heart attack or stroke is a direct outcome of this process.

Reduced levels of cholesterol in blood will decrease your chances of getting heart disease, strokes and angina. Changing food habits eating less fatty food, exercising regularly and maintaining an active lifestyle are key to looking after yourheart.

Sometimes medication may become necessary to counter high cholesterol levels in your blood. Atorvastatin is one such drug that lowers cholesterol levels within safe limits and prevents buildup in blood vessels. This drug works best together with alterations in your lifestyle including food, exercise and if necessary, weight reduction.

This drug is classified as a HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor. In simple terms it slows the production of cholesterol in yourbody. Generic Lipitor is another drug in this category that is effective. The medication must be used under qualified medical supervision. You must discuss you medical details and inform your doctor incase you plan to get pregnant or are breast feeding a child.

It is administered orally and you should maintain a definite schedule for taking the drug. Overdosing can be dangerous, so stay away from such practice. Once you begin to take the medication stay in touch with your doctor and seek immediate help in case you detect some abnormal reactions. While taking the medication do not consume fatty food for obvious reasons. Avoid alcohol or other forms of addiction as they may nullify the good effect or worse complicate the situation.

There may be some side effects associated with Atorvastatin but these should be mild and go away gradually. If any allergi creaction persists, seek medical attention.Store the medication in its container and keep the same at room temperature. All unused and expired medication must be disposed properly.Atorvastatin is a prescription medicine and should be purchased against a valid prescription written for your specific needs.

Fighting cholesterol begins by altering your lifestyle.

What to do About that High Stress Lifestyle That Could Be Raising Your Blood Pressure

Author: Frank Mangano

This description of a typical high-stress lifestyle may sound familiar to you... very familiar...

You get up in the morning, and you're running late, so the stress begins before you're even done eating breakfast. You rushoff to work, stressing about whether you'll make it to work ontime and then stressing about whether you'll get a speeding ticket on the way and end up really late. When you get to work, you're stressing about your job performance, your demanding boss and whether you'll get that promotion. When you're not stressing about your performance at work, you're stressing about your son's performance in school. As you're stressing over the traffic on the way home, you're stressing about your upcoming vacation plans. Finally, you're on your way out the door forvacation, but now you've got airport and flying stress!

It seems like you can't avoid it. Out of the frying pan into the fire, from one stress to the next you go. It may even seem amusing on the surface, all these little things stressing us out, but it's not a laughing matter at all. Getting control over the stress in your life can be a matter of life and death. If you're perpetually stressed and you don't learn what to do about it, you could become a prime candidate for high blood pressure -the silent killer.

Medical experts estimate that 90 percent of Americans will have high blood pressure at some point in their lives. With staggering statistics like this on their minds, researchers from the University of Pittsburgh embarked on a 13-year study to see if early-life stressors impacted someone's future blood pressure levels.

Following more than 5,000 men and women between the ages of 18 and 30, the researchers studied the subjects' cardiovascular activity through a series of rather unusual tests, including submersing the subject's hands in ice cold water and having the mengage in stressful video games.

After taking each person's blood pressure, they hypothesized that participants with the highest blood pressure readings would be precursors to high readings later in life. Thirteen years later, when the test results were re-evaluated--you guess edit--a significant number of those same participants had become hypertensive. The study was published in the American Heart Association journal Circulation.

So how do you go about minimizing your tendency towards getting stressed? Is it even possible in today's fast paced,information-overloaded and hectic society? The answer is yes and you're about to learn how.

First, I'd like you to consider the fact that I'm not suggesting that you stop everything you're doing. You don't necessarily have to slow down, you simply need to calm down. With that thought in mind, here are some action steps you can take starting today, which will make a big difference in keeping your stress levels under control, and minimizing the negative effects of stress that cannot be avoided.

(1) Exercise - Besides being good for your body, exercise is good for your brain. Exercise stimulates the release of endorphins, which make us feel happy, and at ease. It also helps to increase the flow of blood in the brain, ridding the mind of waste products that develop in the course of stressful times when mental processes are in excess. Furthermore, the more fit you are, the more you're able to cope with events in life that bring about stress.

I recommend a minimum of 30 minutes of walking most days of the week, gradually increasing to 45 minutes to 1 hour most days ofthe week. A study published in the December 2005 issue of"Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise" concluded that walking on a treadmill for just 30 minutes can boost your moodand feeling of well-being.

(2) Eat Regularly and Healthfully - Skipping meals is probably the worst thing you can do for your health. Low blood sugar levels that result from skipping meals not only slow down the metabolism but slow down virtually every system in the body. This in turn affects your ability to think clearly and contributes to stressful feelings because of hunger pangs.

Have a healthy breakfast for starters. One of my favorites is one cup of slow cooked oats, (not instant oatmeal which is loaded with preservatives) with banana, blueberries and a tablespoon of lecithin granules (very effective for lowering cholesterol). Avoid processed foods such as bacon and sausage, which are high in fat and lack fiber and nutrients. You should also eat small portions throughout the day. This will keep your metabolic fire burning hot and keep your blood sugar levels stable.

(3) Learn to Meditate - Research indicates that meditating for less than 20 minutes a day is extremely conducive to mental health and minimizing stress levels. The key is finding the time to meditate and then sticking with it once you start. A study published in the journal of Psychosomatic Medicine concluded that a short program in "mindfulness meditation" produced lasting positive changes in both the brain and the function ofthe immune system. The University of Wisconsin-Madison research team found that meditation, long promoted as a technique to reduce anxiety and stress, might produce important biological effects that improve a person's resiliency.

There are many ways to meditate, but start by finding a serene location, one where there are little to no distractions, where you can separate yourself from the world. Then, just like you see on television or in any other place that illustrates meditation, sit upright with your legs crossed and take long, deep breaths in and out. Focus as much as you can on your breathing and try to not let your mind wander. Be an observer;focus on your inner self.

One of the reasons meditation is so effective at reducing stressis because of the power of breathing properly. Go ahead and try it - right now. Take a long, deep breath through your nose...hold it, hold it.... Then slowly let it out through your mouth, and say to your self, silently, RELAX. Even with that one singlebreath, you felt a wave of relaxation pass through your body as tension drained away. Now imagine what a session of twenty, fifteen, ten or even just five minutes per day, whatever you can manage, of deep breathing meditation or guided relaxation will do for you.

The benefits of meditation are remarkable and this is not just some mystical Eastern "new age" prattle - the scientific research now proves it. One way to easily get started with a meditation is with hypnosis audios. Did you know that hypnosis sessions begin by using deep breathing to induce a state of deep, deep relaxation? In fact, when you "let go" and let a hypnotherapist guide you through it, whether in person, or more conveniently, by listening to audio, you automatically release tension, reduce stress and reach a deeper state of profound relaxation than any other way.

Depression - How Organic Nicotine Can Help

Depression - How Organic Nicotine Can Help

Author: sacha tarkovsky

Nicotine is showing great promise as a medical compound for treating patients with depression, due to its ability to affectour feelings of well being and mood.Medical research has established that smoking by people with depression can be in many instances a form of self medication,as Nicotine has been shown to relieve, at least temporarily the symptoms that cause depression.
The reason for this is the same areas of the brain that are stimulated by nicotine appear to influence our moods.Nicotine stimulates the release of specific neurotransmitters which include:
Serotonin, Dopamine and Norepinephrine.

These neuro-transmitters carry messages between the nerves cells and depression has been linked to chemical imbalances in these neurotransmitters.Medical research being carried out on the nicotine molecule is looking at the possibility of restoring this balance by taking nicotine.
By taking nicotine patients may lessen the symptoms of depression by increasing levels of the various brain chemicals that alter our moods by restoring balance.

Medical research on nicotine is on going, into it's possible health benefits in a wide number of areas of which depression isonly one. While the relationship between nicotine and depression is not yet fully understood, the initial findings point to nicotine in its pure form (outside of cigarette smoking) could provide help to patients suffering with depression.Nicotine in its pure form is safe and non toxic. It is simply its association with cigarettes that gives it a bad reputation.
There is in fact no evidence whatsoever that smoking cause's cancer or death.
The fact is, nicotine is just one of 4,000 chemicals consumed in cigarette smoking and it is some of these that are the killers not Nicotine.

Nicotine is actually a naturally occurring compound in nature and is part of the food chain with trace elements found in many vegetables for example, such as potatoes and tomatoes and evensome teas.Nicotine suffers from a bad reputation due to its association with tobacco but medical research is showing it could help with a number of illnesses apart from depression including:Schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and obesity to name a few.
Research on nicotine and its exact affect on depression is inits early stages, however the signs are at present that it can aid the symptoms, which will give hope to millions around the world who suffer from depression and the misery it can cause.
